Since I'll be keeping up with Heroes Season 2 as it rolls out you might expect to see posts dedicated to whole episodes.
Though, since I'm watching at nbc.com you might not see them until the day or two after.
Or, if the show crashes to burn you might not see posts.
Season 2 premier is more fizzle than sizzle. There isn't a catchy new premise itching to be revealed. Possibly they pull the trigger on some inexplicables that will turn out to be interesting, but the only intriguing thing to me was the intro of the new Central American duo.
Does everyone have to go back to a normal job? I suppose that obeys the motif that heroes have day jobs. In the premiere it looks more like denial that baddies are still out there itching to go bump in the night. All the Heroes want to be who they are, but they want to hide it too? I'm sure we could make the plausible explanation they aren't safe, blah blah blah, but it looks a little silly.
Oh, and haircuts are definitely improving on Mohinder and Peter Petrelli.
I posted here that the show needs to up the ante on "Evolution is cool." No signs of life yet. Also, could we please have more reversals of who is good and who is bad? If we have any less I might start to think virtue is absolute (sarcasm, I really need a font just for sarcasm).
What follows are speculations that might constitute spoilers if you haven't seen season 1:
- Cheerleader's cute Hero boy is some kind of doppelganger for Peter Petrelli. Note the "done-that" heroability and the look-alikeness. Or we're supposed to think he's a doppelganger. Though the episode finale eliminates the possibility of reincarnation.
- Passing allusion to Parkman's divorce is too callous to be a mere thread-ending. Story will re-emerge, centring on his offspring. Sooner than you think.
- Little girls having nightmares is why the world needs Jesus. Look for dark things to happen regarding Molly Walker when Parkman can't adequately relate to her, because Evolution isn't a very good god.
- Non-appearance of Sanders-Hawkins Heroes probably means they're in cahoots with the Mohinder-Parkman-Bennet syndicate. If they don't show in episode 2 I'll eat my hat.
